ScreenCloud Dropbox Gallery App Guide

The easiest way to share image and video galleries to your digital screens.

ScreenCloud Post

If you are using the older version of ScreenCloud (signage.screencloud.com) you can download the alternative DropBox Gallery guide here.

The ScreenCloud Dropbox Gallery app makes it easy to connect Dropbox to your digital screens to easily share image or video folders that update as new content is added. This allows you to create digital image or video galleries without needing to upload content individually, or to re-do galleries as new images or videos become available. When you update your Dropbox folder, the new images and videos will automatically be added to your digital screen. This allows you to share any media you like within an office, restaurant, store, or reception and ensures your galleries update automatically.

With the ScreenCloud Dropbox Gallery app you can:

  • Connect to Dropbox and choose image or video folders
  • Choose the timing of your images/videos and if you want to shuffle them
  • Customize your background and image/video transition

Here’s how it works:

1.1. Get started by logging into your ScreenCloud account here and choosing the ScreenCloud App Store from the left-hand menu.

2. Log in to Dropbox

Select “Login” to authenticate ScreenCloud to access your Dropbox account and folders. Then log in to your Dropbox account or select “Allow” on the screen below.

3. Choose your folder to show

Once you have allowed access to your Dropbox account you will see a list of images and video folders. To choose a subfolder, click on each folder’s name until you reach the selected folder.

Please note, video formats supported are MP4, WebM, or OGG; other video file types are not supported through this app.

4. Select your Dropbox app settings

Once you have chosen your folder you will see a green checkmark next to the login button. Next, select your options:

Frequently asked questions:

How long will the Dropbox Gallery app show for?

The Dropbox Gallery app will show for a predetermined amount of time depending on how many images or videos there are in the chosen folder and how long a duration you have set for the content. For example, if there are 10 images in the selected folder, and each image is set to show for 6 seconds, you will have a one-minute feed.

This can be edited by going to the app settings and changing the time duration of each image.

How often does the Dropbox Gallery app look for new images or videos?

Dropbox Gallery app looks for new media every ten minutes.

Who does the DropBox Gallery app display it's been disconnected or has an invalid session error?

This error can occur if you've recently changed your password or credentials for your DropBox account. In order to fix this, you'll need to re-log into your DropBox account which was used to set up the app in ScreenCloud.

Please note, Dropbox no longer provide free tier accounts
