Episode 26
In this episode, David and Mark discuss their experience of implementing ScreenCloud's employee challenge, where an employee goes under the hood of the product, in a real-life scenario, with a real customer.
There’s a lot of talk in product companies about “eating your own dogfood” i.e. getting your team to use your product in their everyday lives. But unless you’re Slack or Facebook, you just might not have the capability, or the capacity, to use your product in the same way that a real customer might. In this episode, David and Mark discuss how they combated this at ScreenCloud by coming up with something called “the employee challenge”. Discussing their experience of what it means for an employee to go under the hood of a product, in a real-life scenario, with a real customer. The challenges that arose alongside around confidence and availability and the hidden benefit of getting employees to fall in love with not just the product, but the problem that product solves.
